Food Logistics Names Open Sky Group to 2022 Top Software & Technology Providers Award

Award Recognizes Provider that Best Supports Safe, Efficient, Reliable Global Cold Food and Beverage Supply Chains  

RALEIGH, N.C. (December 12, 2022) – Open Sky Group, global specialists in Blue Yonder solutions, earned Food Logistics’ Top Software & Technology Provider Award for 2022, chalking up eight years in a row to receive the top honors. Nominees must be actively serving cold food and beverage supply chain customers and are selected by Food Logistics’ editorial staff based on the strength of nominating applications submitted by suppliers, vendors, customers, company representatives, and others. 

“Eight years at the top of any list is an achievement,” said Open Sky Group VP of Client Services, Jason Yantiss. “And I can only give the credit to our people, who dedicate themselves to the pursuit of excellence in helping our clients get the most out of their supply chain technology investments and never take anything for granted.” 

Founded in 2006, Open Sky Group implements Blue Yonder’s transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and labor management systems (LMS) for food and beverage and other supply chain clients globally. In addition, Open Sky’s Advisory Services help clients evaluate new technologies and audit the performance of existing technologies.

Another differentiator for Open Sky Group is their rapid implementation methodology, designed to speed the installation process for a faster return on investment.

Two recent innovations that support increased visibility for third-party logistics companies typify Open Sky Group’s eagerness to think outside the box. Their Enhanced Client Billing solution streamlines billing activities by capturing information in real-time, assigning client-specific contract rates, and creating invoices. As well, their 3PL Client Portal allows clients to offer customers real-time access to inbound and outbound order status, inventory-to-promise, and master item lists. 


Food Logistics reaches more than 26,000 supply chain executives in the global food and beverage industries, including executives in the food sector (growers, producers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and grocers) and the logistics section (transportation, warehousing, distribution, software, and technology) who share a mutual interest in the operations and business aspects of the global cold food supply chain.

Eric McPherson

Vice President of Client Services

Mac works to oversee implementation and integration projects. A former Marine officer and military police officer, he brings over 27 years of supply chain experience, including 11 years at Blue Yonder in both delivery and service sales. Mac is a dedicated, team-oriented professional with a background in business management, professional services, customer service, and supply chain technology. His specialties include sales support, supply chain execution systems, project management, fulfillment operations, distribution operations, and GSA contracts.

Shannon Caflisch

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Shannon is responsible for the strategy and management of all sales, business development, and marketing programs. With over 25 years of sales experience and 15 years focused in the supply chain space, Shannon focuses on building strong relationships with clients and partners and strives to deliver the right software solutions to help conquer supply chain challenges. Shannon believes in learning by listening to understand clients’ goals, struggles, and what is important to their business to build lasting, successful relationships.

Alan Prillaman

Senior Vice President of Client Services

As Senior VP of Client Services, Alan oversees all consulting services and account management at Open Sky Group. Possessing over 30 years of combined industry and consulting experience, Alan leverages his unique background in IT, logistics, quality management systems, manufacturing and distribution operations, and facility and strategic account management to provide clients with creative resolutions to complex challenges. His core philosophy and passion are to deliver tangible value for and establish long-term trusted partnerships with our clients.
