What does your day-to-day look like?
My workday includes identifying potential clients, particularly in supply chain and warehouse management. I conduct outreach, present tailored solutions, and track sales progress. Daily, I collaborate with internal teams and manage our CRM, as well as research industry trends. At the end of the day, my goal is to assist in driving growth for Open Sky Group.
How did you get started in supply chain?
I started my journey shortly after completing my master’s degree. I worked for a large 3PL company and focused on the managed transportation side.
How does supply chain impact a company’s broader strategy?
The supply chain is crucial for a company’s success by directly affecting costs, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness. A well-optimized supply chain cuts costs, speeds delivery, and improves quality; thus, helping businesses stay ahead. It also allows companies to quickly adapt to changes, manage risks, and keep operations running smoothly, all of which are key to meeting strategic goals and delivering products on time and within budget.
What do you view as the biggest challenge in the current supply chain environment and how can it be solved?
The biggest challenge in today’s supply chain is unpredictability, such as natural disasters or sudden changes in demand. To tackle this, companies need to be flexible and resilient. This means having multiple suppliers, using real-time data, and investing in technology that allows quick adjustments. It’s not just about being efficient anymore; it’s about being able to adapt fast when surprises happen. By building a more agile supply chain, businesses can keep things running smoothly and keep customers happy, even when unexpected disruptions occur.
What philosophy do you follow while working with customers?
My philosophy is simple: listen first. Understand the client’s needs and be genuinely invested in their success. I focus on building trust by being transparent, reliable, and proactive. It’s about creating a partnership where we work together to solve problems and achieve their goals, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
Please share your favorite success story.
I had called on a company for months and finally, I was able to schedule a call for a deeper discussion between stakeholders, our executive, and myself. The call was complete and then it was crickets. I followed up about 5 or 6 times and still, nothing. I was scanning LinkedIn and saw an article about the company. I called back and spoke with the controller about the article. Fast forward 6 months, the deal was signed. They had a problem, and I was able to facilitate the resolve. That’s my goal, always.
What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the supply chain industry?
Be proficient in supply chain management software such as WMS, TMS, and ERP systems. If possible, do an internship. Ask questions! Cultivate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Always be open to learning and building a strong network of supply chain professionals. This industry is large, and your network should be too.
What is a fun fact about yourself that your clients may not know?
My husband and I own a catering business, and I am a self-proclaimed foodie. As we travel to explore diverse cuisines, understanding how the supply chain operates creates a fascinating journey behind every dish.
