What does your day-to-day look like?
My primary focus is on implementing new Transportant Management Systems (TMS). Depending on the phase of the project – whether it’s configuration, testing, or go-live – my focus shifts to align with the specific deliverables of that stage. These projects require close collaboration between the OSG team and the customer; therefore, fostering strong communication and alignment are important to ensure a successful go-live.
How did you get started in supply chain?
I started in Supply Chain in 2000 when I joined CHEP. Initially, I was brought on to support their programmers’ transition from old technology to SAP. Within a year, I received formal training in SAP Sales and Distribution module and contributed to the successful implementation of the platform. Then I became part of the implementation team, where I implemented TMS across the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Western Europe.
How does supply chain impact a company’s broader strategy?
Meeting customer demand and expectations is predicated on the efficiency and resilience of a company’s supply chain. In today’s interconnected global economy, organizations must be prepared to navigate unexpected disruptions while maintaining operational excellence. The ability to adapt quickly and effectively has become a critical differentiator in delivering consistent value and reliability to customers who increasingly depend on a seamless supply chain.
What do you view as the biggest challenge in the current supply chain environment and how can it be solved?
Political rivalries, unrest, and uncertainty have a profound impact on global stability, often disrupting long-term planning. Forming mutually beneficial trade agreements – ones that benefit most – can play a vital role in ensuring the stability of trade partnerships.
What philosophy do you follow while working with customers?
I view myself as a strategic business partner with my customers, with a role to help them maximize their ROI in supply chain software and services. My success is directly tied to theirs. It reflects the strength of our collaboration and value we deliver together.
Please share your favorite success story.
As part of the Tms impelmentation across Western Europe and the UK – including Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, France, and Spain – I spent a year traveling extensively to collaborate with representatives from each country. One particularly memorable experience was participating in meeting where seven distinct English accents were spoken. I traveled to the offices in Bornem (BE), Madrid (ES), Paris (FR), Koln (DE), and Manchester (GB) for their go-lives.
What advice would you give to someone looking to enter the supply chain industry?
Choose a niche that aligns with your personality and strengths. It can make a significant difference in your career. As an outgoing person, I enjoy teaching and training. Fortunately, every project provides me with opportunities to connect with teams, share knowledge, and lead trainings.
What is a fun fact about yourself that your clients may not know?
I am an unsuccessful perfectionist who has settled for excellence in everything I do.
